Think snowboarders launching tricks off jumps bigger than most houses or jetting out of a half pipe’s vertical walls is cool to watch on TV? Wait till you see it in person!

February 28-March 4, The Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships return to Vail bringing the likes of Americans Shaun White and Kelly Clark to battle against the top riders from around the world. Halfpipe and Slopestyle competitions wow spectators on a course that is in itself a spectacle. Snow Park Technologies begins planning the course months in advance, employing 3D modeling software and creativity to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the sport. Take a trip up Chair 6 at Golden Peak to appreciate it from above.

Be sure to also visit the epic sponsor village from Wednesday onwards. Free nightly concerts happen at Solaris Plaza in Vail Village. There’s also The US Open of Broomball Tournament at Solaris Ice Rink.
